Snowflake and Candy Cane Cupcakes

Merry Christmas!

Snowflake & Candy Cane Cupcakes

Just a quick note to wish everyone a very merry, sweet and joyful Christmas! I made cupcakes to bring to work and give out to some friends. I'm baking a luscious apple & pear tart today, to serve with ice cream and whipped cream for dessert at my family's Christmas gathering.

The snowflake cupcakes won the poll! And while I originally wanted to make a pastel blue theme, I ran out of blue cupcake-liners. And the grocery store didn't have any blue fondant, so I just made the best of what I had and made a red/white & candy cane theme instead :) I think they came out great!!

I made the snowflakes using fondant with Silikomart's snowflakes molds. They send me a lovely set of snowflake-molds, santa-mold & a bead-mold for cakes. I pressed the fondant into the mold, cut out the excess and pressen them right out. Out came the cutest, little PINK snowflakes :)
